A small utility that does one thing: switches the keyboard layout you ask for.
Each group is an ordered list of layouts with its own shortcut. A repeated press moves to the next one and wraps around.
Press the field and then the keys. Any combination with ⌘, ⌥ or ⌃ works, and two groups never share one.
The familiar list appears on screen with every layout of the group. Show it always or only for more than two layouts, in glass or solid, with the background as transparent as you like.
Start a group by tapping a modifier twice, or by a modifier on its own, no letter key needed.
Typed a word in the wrong layout? One shortcut retypes it the way you meant.
One switch in the menu bar menu turns Langouste off, and the system shortcuts take over again.
No window and no Dock icon. Settings open from the menu bar icon.
One app for Apple silicon and Intel on macOS 12 or later. The free app needs no account, and the only request it makes is a daily check for updates, which you can switch off.
More for people who live in several layouts. Pro is a yearly subscription for up to five devices. See pricing
Switch the layout in the middle of a word and the word on screen is retyped in the new one: ghbdsn becomes привіт.
Learned words, excluded apps and text hotkeys carry between your devices.
Password fields get English automatically, and your layout comes back when you leave them.
A ; typed for an apostrophe inside a contraction becomes ’: don;t becomes don’t. A real semicolon after a word stays.
An apostrophe before я, ю, є or ї becomes ʼ: м'ясо becomes мʼясо. Needs a Ukrainian layout installed.
